a trip to see snow.

Flagstaff is a beautiful city in Arizona. I had never been before and now that I have I feel like its a place you must go during winter. It gives you the true feeling of the winter season. Since I'm from Ohio I am used to snow during this time of year. As much as I do love the sunshine I also do miss the cold, cloudy snowy weather every now and then. So we headed north and in about 2 and a half hours we were in extremely chilly, cloudy and snowy weather. Brooklynn had only ever seen snow watching Christmas movies, never in real life. She was so excited. The entire drive there she asked(about 50 times) "where is the snow?" Watching her face light up when she finally saw real snow was priceless. And I think she was also surprised at how cold it really is to touch! We also shared our little adventure with Ryan's mom, dad and 5 year old little brother, Tristan. After staying the night in a nice cozy cabin, playing in the snow and building a snowman, eating at a super fun restaurant and visiting a really neat museum Id say the trip was a success!

At the pioneer museum in downtown Flagstaff. We were in this tiny little house set up the way the pioneers actually lived. It was so amazing.

a mommy and a baby

We love going to GG's house. GG is my grandma who is my girls great grandma...therefore shes called GG. Anyways, GG has a ton of fun costume jewelry. Lots of beads and bracelets that Brooklynn loves to go through. She likes to try them on, line them up and count them. She came across two little pins one evening while she was having a great time getting into all GG's treasures. She brought them to me and said "a mommy and a baby". I thought this was so clever because these pins did look like a mommy and a baby. She has such a creative imagination and I love that about her.

happy birthday grandma!

Yesterday we celebrated my grandma's 84th birthday. We gathered at my sisters house for homemade lasagna, salad and a very delicious cake with fudge filling, yummm! It was a really nice family get together. With our busy schedules we try to get everyone under the same roof as often as we can. We all had a really nice time. Happy 84th Grandma! We love you :]





backyard fun!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful. Everyday we have the windows open and let the fresh air blow in. Our backyard is in full bloom and I love it! Just a few days ago me and Brooklynn bought some petunias to plant in our garden. I love to garden, I grew up helping my parents garden every spring and summer back in Ohio and I want my girls to do the same. Its a fun hobby. Brooklynn loved it. We even found a worm. The very first thing she said when she saw it was "where is its mommy?". Anytime she sees a creature that's alone she wants to know where its parents are. We see tons of butterfly's and humming birds out back which we love. And Brooklynn's favorite is to water the plants. Sometimes she even waters herself... or me. I'm soaking up this perfect weather before it turns into 110 degree days again. (not looking forward to that at all!) Dear Arizona, Please continue to stay nice!! Love, Tayler

put-put golfing

For a while Ryan and I had been wanting to take Brooks miniature golfing. We went for Ryan's Birthday and it was such a great time! Brooklynn didn't understand the object of the game at first, she was more focused on chasing the balls and telling us who's turn was next. After about 8 or 9 holes she started to get the hang of it and was really trying to put the ball into the hole. She also loved all the little houses and waterfalls through out the 18 hole course. We also saw people on roller coasters (which Brooks was fascinated watching). She really had a blast playing all the games with her Daddy in the arcade. Gracynn came along also but spent the entire time sleeping away very cozy in her stroller. With that said, we will definitely be going again when Gracy is a bit bigger so she can enjoy the fun too!

cookie's galore.

I thought it would be so fun to invite some very good friends of ours over to decorate cookies. Brooks and I set off to the store to pick out all types of frosting, sprinkles and candies to make some beautiful cookies. Basically anything Brooklynn pulled off the shelf, went into the cart. I was up till 2am the night before putting all the icing in cups and sorting all the different sprinkles into little individual cups. I enjoy doing this type of thing and it was so worth it watching the girls create cookie masterpieces. And even us moms joined in for the fun. After the decorating we had a picnic outside, it was such a beautiful day and we had such a great time! I will definitely be planning another cookie party again soon!

a birthday for tay.

So last Wednesday was my Birthday. And it was so nice and so special this year. Very much about family and relaxing, which i love. Wednesday was spent at home together, Ryan took the day off to be home which was a better gift then anything. Just having him home is wonderful. He got me a very nice gift and cooked me dinner that evening. That day I also opened my front door to find a surprise waiting there for me. A birthday balloon and a little package. My dad likes to leave surprises. Saturday night my very sweet sister took me out to dinner(restaurant of my choice). I chose PF Chang's. Its by far the most delicious Chinese food. There was even a 45 minute wait, which we didn't care... we would of waited hours just to make sure we got lettuce wraps that night! Such a nice birthday.
